Video 1.2 - Animation of formation of the right ventricular inflow tract and remodeling of the primary fold
Animation demonstration of the formation of the right ventricular inflow tract and remodeling of the primary fold during this process. The animation is divided into five sequences: [0] Schematic representation of the primitive heart tube. The atrioventricular canal is still positioned entirely above the primitive left ventricle, and the outflow tract still entirely above the right ventricle. The primary fold is depicted as a yellow ring in between the primitive left and right ventricles. [1] During development of the tricuspid ostium and right ventricular inflow tract, outgrowth of the primary fold to the right will occur, dragging the primary fold around the right side of the AV canal. [2] Further outgrowth of the right ventricle from the second heart field occurs, resulting in a division of the primary fold. [3] Formation of the tricuspid ostium, and further division of the primary fold tissue. [4] The lateral side of the primary fold tissue will form the trabecula septomarginalis of the tight ventricle (containing the right bundle branch) and the medial side will form the moderator band of the right ventricle.
