Video 47.3 - Right aortic arch with aberrant innominate artery passing behind the esophagus
This is a very rare anomaly. The first arterial branch from the aorta is the right carotid artery and then the right subclavian artery. From the proximal descending aorta an innominate artery arises and passes to the left giving off the left carotid and left subclavian arteries. Presumably there is a ligamentous ductus between the left innominate artery where it branches and the pulmonary artery.
